Frequently Asked Questions

How can I participate in Blogust?
Comment, Like and Share! Your comments, likes and shares are the key to helping to save lives and helping mothers and fathers around the world share some of life’s most important milestones with their children. Every day, like, comment and/or share Blogust photos and posts using #Blogust and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

How does Blogust work?
Blogust is a month-long digital dialogue, bringing many of the most beloved online writers, photo and video bloggers and Shot@Life Champions together to help change the world through inspirational quotes and imagery. The Blogust bloggers will participate in a digital relay, with three or more bloggers posting each week for the month of August 2016. Every like, comment and social media share their posts receive throughout the month will trigger a donation by MAM to help provide a vaccine for a child in need around the world (up to 30,000 vaccines).

If I comment multiple times on a blog post, like, or share the inspirational quote on multiple platforms will that count?
Yes, all comments, likes and shares will be counted during the month of August. For every comment and share, MAM will help provide a polio vaccine to a child in a developing country.

When will the #TBT milestone posts be published?
Blog posts will appear before noon ET most weekdays during the month of August.

What role does MAM have in Blogust?
MAM has committed to helping provide up to measles 30,000 vaccines for every comment and social media action (as outlined above) to give children around the world a shot at a healthy life.

How will the money be used?
Funds generated by Blogust will directly support Shot@Life’s implementing partners, UNICEF and WHO, to deliver measles vaccines in the countries where they are needed most.

Is there a limit to the total number of comments for Blogust that will count for the vaccines donation?
The goal is to get up to 30,000 comments and social media likes and shares (as outlined above).

What is the history of Blogust?
During the 2012 Mom 2.0 Summit, a comment was made during one of the sessions that changed the way the Shot@Life campaign looked at our work. Liz Gumbinner, author of Mom 101 said “Comments are our currency.” We took that to heart and decided we were going to start an initiative that brought together some of the top voices in the space who cared about the issue of vaccines for children around the world; and Blogust was born!

Thirty-one incredible bloggers joined the first Blogust team in August 2012. Comments to the Blogust posts unlocked donations to help save more than 11,000 lives! To date, Blogust has resulted in more than 100,000 donated vaccines to children around the globe!
